Our Practice
Background
Homefarm Dental has been established since 1989 by the current practice principle. We are situated within a complex of a Medical centre, Pharmacy, SureStart centre, supermarket, and newsagents, with ample free car parking. The practice is located within easy reach of a large busy shopping centre in Beaumont Leys which is served by excellent public transport links. Our practice is placed about 2 miles from the city centre and within easy reach of the M1 motorway.


Dental Practice
Homefarm Dental is a mainly NHS based practice offering a full range of treatment options including private treatments for all age groups and diversity. There are two modern fully equipped surgeries. Each surgery has its own intra-oral radiography unit and is computerised with digital radiography. To further enhance the patient experience both surgery's are equipped with the latest Medi-vision patient education software and digital photography. The reception area is purposefully designed with a spacious waiting area and is wheelchair accessible.

Our practice team comprises two experienced dentists, a foundation dentist, and a team of four supporting staff which include practice manager/receptionist, and three DCP's. Dr Kam Kalsi and the principle both hold additional post-graduate qualifications. Kam is currently studying for an MSc in Clinical Education at Sheffield Hallam University. Kam is an experienced GDP with special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

The practice principle is also an experienced GDP and has a special interest in orthodontics and is able to offer in-house orthodontic treatment for mild to moderate malocclusion cases. We also have two visiting oral surgeons at our sister practice, who are able to accept outside referrals to provide a full range of surgical dental procedures (i.e. removal of impacted wisdom teeth, surgical root removal, apicectomies, etc). We also have additional support from the local University Trust Hospitals for patients who require specialist or complex treatments.

All the practice team pride themselves in providing a caring, relaxed and professional atmosphere for patients. The practice is proud to have achieved the 'Investors in People Award' in 2000 and is committed to providing continual staff development, through tailored training programs. Our commitment to ensuring we provide a high standard of ethical dentistry is reflected in the practice achieving the 'BDA Good Practice Award' in 2007 and we continue to hold this status.

All new practice patients are provided a practice information leaflet and will be booked in initially for a full dental examination to assess their current level of oral and dental health. This is then followed by tailored dental advice to help you look after your teeth better and prevent future dental disease. It is our belief that prevention is better than cure.
 
Our practice is happy to accept patients of all ages from infants to the elderly of all backgrounds. 
 
Our practice has a zero tolerence policy for patients displaying abusive, aggressive, or violent behaviour.

Patient confidentiality
We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously at this practice and all personal information is treated in the strictest confidence. However from time to time we may need to release dental records to Leicester City NHS or the NHS Business Service Authority as part of our ongoing clinical review process. We will try and contact you before releasing your dental records.

Complaints procedure
We aim to make your experience at the practice as pleasurable as possible. However, should you have any complaints please contact H Virdee on 0116 2340499 who will be able to deal with your complaint and talk you through our procedure. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy of the procedure from reception.
